Junior Kindergarten

Reading, printing and math, taught step by step through the year.

Junior Kindergarten is where our phonics program begins. Children learn two sounds a week from September to March, 40 sounds in all, with a full review after every six. Most are reading simple three-letter words by mid-October and reading to a teacher by January.

Every day also includes printing practice, a hands-on math activity, theme-based science, literature, music and movement, a planned art activity and plenty of time to play.

  • Ages 4 years
  • Half days, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

First we work, and then we play.
